windows ME set-up
- Close all programs until you are at your desktop.
- Click the Start button.
- Select Settings, and then select Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Internet or Internet Options icon.
- Select the Connections tab.
- Click the Setup or Connect button to start the Internet Connection Wizard.
- Select the bottom option, I Want To Configure My Internet Account Manually and then click Next.
- Select Connect Using a Phone Line and then click Next.
- Select Phone Line and Modem and then click Next.
- Enter 638-5465 for the phone number.
- Uncheck Dial using the area code and country code and click Next.
- Enter your Username (also known as your User ID). Your Username/ID is your Email address. If your Email address is johnd@netnevada.net then, your Username/ID name is johnd@netnevada.net. Do NOT type it as JOHND or JohnD.
- Enter your Password. If it is bakd2 then, type it exactly as bakd2. Do NOT type it as Bakd2 or BAKD2. Your password will appear on the screen represented as black dots. This is a security feature that prevents people from seeing the letters and numbers and click Next.
- Select Yes to set up the Email now and then click Next.
- Select Create a New Email Account and then click Next.
- Enter your Name. This can be anything, and is what people see when you send them an Email; click Next.
- Enter your Email Address and then click Next.
- Select POP3.
- For the Incoming Mail Server type: mail.netnevada.net
- For the Outgoing Mail Server type: smtp.netnevada.net and click Next.
- Enter your Username and Password again.
- Make certain Secure Password is not checked.
- Remember Password can be selected, then click Next.
- Uncheck Connect Immediately and then click Finish.
- Windows 98 is now setup to access the Internet using Net Nevada.
