Net Nevada - Get Connected!

windows 95 set-up

Have your Windows 95 CD Rom or Diskettes available. These instructions may vary depending on which version of Windows 95 you have. If you have Internet Explorer 4 use the Windows 98 instructions.

 • Click the Start Button
 • Click Programs
 • Click Accessories
 • Click Internet Tools

At this point, you will either see "Internet Setup Wizard" or "Get on the Internet". Choose whichever is available. If you don't have either of these choices you may need to reinstall dial-up networking from your Windows 95 CD. The next screen will usually be a simple introduction to the Setup Wizard. Choose Next.
The next screen should ask you how you would like to set up to connect to the internet.
 • Automatic
 • Manual
 • Current
 • Choose Manual.

The next few screens may vary based upon certain circumstances, but here is the general info needed (in no particular order). When asked how you connect to the Internet, you will have an option between:
 • Local Area Network
 • Phone Line
 • Choose Phone Line.

When asked how you obtain your Internet Protocol (IP) address, you will have an option to either:
 • Specify an IP Address or
 • My Internet Service Provider Automatically Assigns Me One,
 • Choose "Automatically Assigns Me One"

When asked to specify your Name Service Addresses, enter the following:
 • 64.89.225.9  • 64.89.225.10

When asked if you would like to use Windows Messaging for your internet mail, choose:
 • No.

When Asked to enter the name of you Internet Service Provider, enter:
 • Net Nevada

When asked for the phone number, enter:
 • (702) 638-5465
or the proper number for your type of connection.

When all of this information has been entered, Click Finish to complete the configuration. Windows 95 may recommend that you reboot your computer. If it does not, do so anyhow (for good measure). You will now be able to double click on "The Internet" Icon to get connected with Net Nevada. Don't forget to configure your e-mail client for your new e-mail address. We have the settings for Eudora and Microsoft Internet Mail on our Mail Configuration page. Good Luck!
