The SQL Worm - Back in July we instituted a basic security policy restricting open SQL connectivity into and out from our network, as a result many of our customers have had some additional protection from this latest threat, however we strongly encourage our customers to take this time to check and update all of their server software. For information on services which are available to assist your company with this task please contact us at support@netnevada.net.

In a continuing effort to protect the basic network security of our customers, we have added the following policies: No direct access to TCP port 1433 (Microsoft SQL), no direct access from IP addresses 210.x.x.x or 211.x.x.x (Asia Pacific Network Information Center). These changes are a result of scans and attacks being originated into our network. Customers needing specific allowances to these policies should contact Net Nevada Network Operations at noc@netnevada.net.

    We have just added direct
    inter-connectivity to Cox Communications!
We are still waiting for Cox to resolve some routing issues, but the end result will be direct connectivity for web hosting and colocation customers, and the fastest path between Net Nevada DSL and Cox Cablemodem customers possible! No other DSL service in Las Vegas offers anything like it... tell a friend... DSL Gamers take note!
