- World Wide Web Consortium
These are the people who decide what the next generation of HTML will include. They have the white paper standards on their site.

A great list of "special characters" that you might need now and then.
- Barebones Software - Home of BBEdit
The ultimate "text" editor for writing HTML on a Macintosh. Lots of HTML helpers and plug-ins.
- Ultra Edit Homepage
The ultimate "text" editor for writing HTML on a PC. Not as many HTML tools but a must have nonetheless.
- The Microsoft FrontPage Homepage
A definite improvement from the last version, FrontPage98 is a WYSIWYG editor that also shows you the code. Strong points are it's ability to handle advanced coding and large site and link management.
- Yahoo's list of Color Information Pages
Here are many sites that explain the use of the 216-color web palate. Choose your favorite.
